Philosophy
Mission Statement
I believe that children are capable of absorbing lots of learning if they have the proper exposure, positive nurturing, and a happy environment filled with love. We are further convinced that early stimulation will set a strong foundation for success in years to come.
In order to begin to read and perform other academic tasks, a child must first gather meaning from the world and develop an awareness of concepts.
To gather meaning from the world, a child must have many satisfying sensory and sensory motor experiences – he or she must touch, feel, smell, hear, and see. Perceptual development follows: this is how a child interprets sensory experiences, which is a prerequisite for developing his or her mind. Children need need time and room to explore, experiment and discover.
We have established a program that has enough structure to develop a sense of trust in knowing "what happens next" but not to burden a child to the point of losing his or her sense of childhood. Good manners, respect and consideration for others are also reinforced.
At Shining Stars Preschool Academy, Inc. (SSPA), we believe each child is a unique individual. We strive to provide a loving, nurturing, and creative environment for children. We are sensitive to their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs. We provide developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning while also helping them to enjoy many other successful experiences. We encourage not just learning, but the love of learning.
